WARRIORS GUIDE -
Even if you have NO CLUE what this site is all about, we want you to have a chanch, so read up and it will help you understand everything much, much better! ^-^ We want EVERYONE to be able to roleplay with us!
Basic Stuff -
Ok. Ancestors is a feral cat roleplay. It is quite confusing, but I will explain everything to you. It is based on a book series called Warriors, written by Erin Hunter, but no problem. There are four clans, they all live in a forest, except each Clan has its own territorry. There is a struggle for prey, so the clans can never really be peaceful with each other, plus - twolegs(humans) are a constant threat, but not too major.
Names -
Now, the names. As a cat in this forum your name has two parts, a beginning which you will have for your whole life, and an end which changes with your position. While a kit (kitten), your name will have 'kit' at the end. Example: Frostkit, Snowkit, Bloodkit. Then when you are made an apprentice(a warrior in training) You have 'paw' at the end of your name. Example: Frostpaw, Snowpaw, Bloodpaw. After you are made a warrior(basically a normal-ranking cat), you choose the second part of your name. Example: Frostpelt, Snowfeather, Bloodtooth. If you began the roleplay as an apprentice, your clan Leader gets to decide the second part of your name. You do not. This name is your name even if you become deputy or anything; it cannot change. If you become a leader, however, it does change. You take on the ending 'star'. Example: Froststar, Snowstar, Bloodstar. The beginnings and ending can only be something a feral cat could have heard of. As in, no 'candle' or 'car' or 'diamond'...choose from the name list or come up with a suitable, sensible name.
Extra -
Ok, some more info:
- Only leaders have nine lives
- Warriors mentor apprentices
- There is a medicine cat
- Humans are called twolegs
- Cars are called Monsters
- the road is called the Thunderpath
- The milky way is called Silverpelt
- Stars are believed to be dead warriors
- When a warrior dies, it joins StarClan.
- Starclan is basically a clan of all the dead cats, they give prophecies and warn the clans below about coming danger.
- A 'kittypet' is a house cat
- 'Twoleg nests' are human houses.
Medcats -
A medicine cat is the Clans healer. They have a special connection with StarClan, so they can communicate with them and warn their clans about danger and such. Medicine Cats can not have kits, and get to choose their own apprentices. You see, a leader gets to choose a warrior's apprentice, but not in the case of a medicine cat. Medcats use herbs and other things to cure sick cats, here is a guide to help you with Medcats:

Ranks -
The ranks which you can roleplay in are the following:
- Kit (cannot leave the camp, under 6 moons)
- Apprentice (Training to become a warrior, over 6 moons, can go anywhere in the territorry and even to some battles)
- Warrior (normal-ranked cat. Can go anywhere in the territorry and participate in any battle you are assigned too.)
- Queen (She-cats expecting kits or nursing them; becomes a warrior after kits are apprenticed.)
- Elder (old cat, cannot leave camp or do anything but sit around and talk, tell stories, and sleep)
- Deputy (Second-in-command. Can organize patrols and even lead cats into battle.)
- Leader (First-in-command. Tells everyone what to do, assigns patrols, tells Deputy to assign patrols, leads clan into battle, leads clan to gatherings)
- Rouge (Trouble-maker. Has no clan. Wanders around)
- Loner (regular cat with no clan, wanders around.)
Gatherings -
Once a month, during full moon, each Clan Leader will elect a group of warriors to attend the Gathering. The Gathering is held at the island , where the Clan leaders meet to dicuss things that have been happening in their Clans. This info that they speak of could be: Prey shortage, water shortage, new warriors, new kits, anything, really. At gatherings there is a truce, and no cat can battle or quarrel with another, even if they despise each other. Gatherings are held in peace, and StarClan will bring clouds in front of the moon if they wish for the Gathering to end. Leaders attend each Gathering, and they also select which cats will accompany them.
This should cover you, basically. If you have any questions, contact an administrator and ask. I am an administrator, so you can PM me if you wish.
